The San Francisco food scene deserves it’s own blog post. After living there for over three years, I discovered so many gems, but also just scratched the surface.
Below is a list of some delicious spots around the city (categorized by neighborhood). I starred (*) my favorite places, so, if you are only in SF for a short period of time, I recommend prioritizing those spots.
North Beach/ Little Italy:
Sodini’s (Grandma’s style Italian - best gnocchi)*
Sotto Mare (Italian fish and pasta - scallops on top of angel hair is to die for!)*
China Live (up scale dim sum- MUST)*
Il Casaro (great pizza - sit down)

Mama’s (brunch—try going on a week day cause weekend lines are PACKED)

Russian Hill/Nob Hill:
Seven Hills (amazing pasta)*
Union Larder (wine bar + small bites)
Lemongrass (favorite Thai in the city - casual)
Elephant Sushi (don’t take reservations'; make sure to go early)*
Nob Hill Cafe (long wait, but worth it - Italian)
Mezcalito (Mexican + mezcal bar - great ambiance)
